Xantex Autopsy Finale.
While I had hoped to have all the problem units functional, that is not to be at this time. If I should find someone who has the solution for the over voltage fault (when none actually exists in the circuit) I will link to that post in the future. Continue reading

Further Data on the Xantrex Autopsy
Seems a shame that people just give up on these older inverters when something small like a thermistor fails. Seems those that only promote replacement are made of money and likely will never read this blog. Their loss. But why replace an inverter when the failed part is about 3 dollars US? Or less…. Simple and Small 1 Amp Gel Cell Charger Circuit
The circuit in the image has some additional notes. It can be adapted to other small battery types by raising or lowering the charge potential via changing the resistance value Continue reading

Inverters 101, including the RF aspects no one has discussed before.
But what has not been discussed thus far is the Radio Frequency noise aspect of some of these circuits, and also some commercial solar controllers can and do radiate RF as a byproduct of the ability to eek a little more charging time from a rising and setting sun. Continue reading

EMP and Solar Flares as they relate to your energy system.
…In a flare event, the computers themselves are largely not affected as they could be in an EMP event, but the portion of the grid they monitor may overload and components begin to fail, and this raises the potential of those systems “downstream” to overload as well and fail in the same manner, that would be how the computers attached to those power lines at the time of the surge could be affected….. A Little More about Automotive Alternators…
You do want to have the adjustability so you can fine tune the system so it is not trying to charge at full output at all times- unlike a car or truck, it does not need to go to full charging rate. A moderate rate of 20 Amps will recharge quite effectively, as will 10 Amps. Continue reading

Using Zeners
If you are serious about trying to use Zeners I will direct you to the various factory handbooks for additional information about their uses. The use of Zeners in alternative energy circuits in general is rather limited though, and they really require isolation to limit their load on the circuit which can be dissipating energy you may want for your battery. In other circuit applications outside of the alternative energy systems; they have their uses, Continue reading

Some additional notes on the chargers presented so far
If the alkalines charged on the alkaline charger do not seem to have much capacity after charging, let them sit for a day or two as this allows for some diffusion of the battery chemistry to take place within the battery. Continue reading

Alternators/Dynamos, and Generators.
While this is a little out of order of the original book plans, the information may prove quite timely. Since this was originally written late at night, there may be some adjustments later on. Pictures will certainly be added in about a week or so. Continue reading
